The SCEA-Retired Convention will take place May 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at The SCEA Headquarters, 2999 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, 29169
- The registration cost is $30, which includes lunch. The program will officially begin at 11:00 AM. Please download and complete the below registration form and submit your payment to the SCEA-R office by April 24, 2026.
- If you are unable to mail your check by this date, you may pay at the door. However, you must send an email to retired-thescea@thescea.org to reserve your seat.

FCEA-R Members Visit the Florence County Museum
Saturday, March 28, 2026 - FCEA-R members participated in a guided tour of Unforgettable: The Civil Rights Photography of Cecil Williams. Per information found on the Florence County Museum's website, this exhibition features a selection of Williams’ photographs, accompanied by interpretive text for each, high-lighting Williams’ work while also exploring the broader role of photography in the Civil Rights movement. This is the first photography exhibition to be featured in the museum's Special Exhibit Gallery.
The exhibit will be featured at the Florence County Museum through May 17, 2026 in the Special Exhibits Gallery.

Highlights from the FCEA-R November 10, 2025 Meeting at the Pamplico Library, Pamplico, South Carolina
Brenda Denise Allison, MSNEd, RN
Director of Integrated & Palliative Care, McLeod Health
Denise Allison was the featured speaker at the FCEA-R November 10th meeting. Ms. Allison is a seasoned healthcare leader with nearly two decades of experience in nursing, clinical effectiveness, and integrated care. As Corporate Director of Integrated Care at McLeod Health, she oversees a diverse portfolio of programs including Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care, Outpatient Infectious Disease, and the McLeod Diabetes Center. Her leadership is marked by strategic innovation, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes across the care continuum.
Denise has led major initiatives such as the restructuring of McLeod’s Palliative Care Program and the integration of in-home and telephonic outreach services. She is known for her expertise in care coordination, value-based care, and quality improvement, and has successfully managed grants from the McLeod Foundation and Duke Endowment.
Previously, Denise served as a Care Manager for Clinical Effectiveness, where she facilitated physician-led quality improvement teams and spearheaded EMR transitions. Her background also includes roles as Nurse Educator and Pediatric ICU RN, where she earned multiple accolades including the South Carolina Palmetto Gold Award and Pediatric ICU RN of the Year.
A published author and national presenter, Denise holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Francis Marion University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a Sigma Theta Tau inductee and continues to contribute to peer-reviewed journals and professional councils.
